Raja Gazanfar

Raja Gazanfar is a Ph.D. student in the Middle East and North African Studies (MENA) program at Northwestern University. His research investigates the intersection of aesthetics, politics, and lyric forms, focusing on how the Indo-Persian poetic traditions in the Indian subcontinent developed formal strategies to articulate relations of power and political subjectivity. He completed his undergraduate studies in English at Ashoka University, where he also served as a Teaching Fellow across the English and History departments. His broader academic interests encompass comparative poetics, literary theory, and Indo-Persian literary culture.
