Gillian Swain (she/her), whose home department is Classics, is a Comparative Literary Studies PhD student who studies song cultures, orality & literacy, theories of poetry, and meter & metrical theories, particularly of Ancient Greek-speaking and Early Modern English-speaking cultures, with special interest in the works of Sappho, Theocritus, and Philip Sidney.
